The Compass
A Premiere Blood Profile

What is hair analysis?

A single hair can give us a lot of information about you. The hair on your head grows 2 - 6 years before falling out.   Many tiny blood vessels fee the base of each strand.   During that time, your hair shaft absorbs chemicals from any medications you take. It also contains sweat, your body’s natural oils, and any toxins around you.

A hair analysis uses special techniques to look closely at your hair under a microscope. The results can show details about your health and habits.

Hair analysis can detect mineral and heavy metals.

Hair testing was discovered over 25 years ago as scientific studies showed hair was like a tape recording being both stable and also permanently embedding the data in the hair. Hair testing is now used regularly in the fields of drug testing, forensic science, nutritional and mineral analysis and hormone testing. Scientists see hair analysis as one of the most exciting areas for development due to the samples and history lasting much longer than blood and urine but also for it being non-evasive and accessible to everyone. Recent developments include the use of hair analysis in IVF treatment.

Food Allergy Testing

Are you allergic to cucumbers or lettuce?    Dr. Jen is!

It's surprising the symptoms that people will live with on a day-to-day basis without attempting to address them.   Many of those symptoms include nausea, bloating, fatigue, headaches digestive issues and even rashes, all while incorrectly assuming this is the norm and they simply learn to live with it.   Well, we are here to tell you - it is not the norm.

A lot of people living with these symptoms will take action and seek medical advice to see if there is an underlying conditional or disease that needs to be dealt with.   However, sometimes these symptoms even stump doctors.   If can be an incredibly frustrating process, and that is when many people give up and learn to live with the symptoms.    So, what if we told you that your symptoms could be linked to the foods that you eat?

You’ve got food allergies or intolerances, and you need to know what’s causing your problems NOW.   Sound familiar?  As soon as we start dealing with those frustrating symptoms, we feel as though avoiding those food ingredients is the only way to help avoid symptoms. This is true, to some degree, but how do you actually figure out what’s going on with your gut?

A bit of research online will tell you all about an elimination diet and how it can be an effective tool for determining food intolerances.  That diet takes time, extensive food journaling, self-motivation, and the results still may not be accurate.

If you just want to skip the stress, the time and the effort, consider a lab-based test for food intolerances.  This will give you the concrete results faster and easier. After that, you can go into a properly educated and helpful elimination diet that won’t require you to journal or compromise your nutrition.
